We are most fortunate to enjoy the services of a very loyal and professional staff. Audrey, our housekeeper, is in charge of the day to day running of Art Studio.
Harry is our gardener and maintenance man. He is a font of local knowledge and has worked at Art Studio for more than 30 years.
Should you require groceries for your first night, then Helena, our maid, will arrange this.
The people of Barbados are genuinely warm hearted, very friendly and will do everything possible to ensure your stay on the Island is an enjoyable and memorable experience.
As our apartments are next to each other, they could be combined to suit a family, or group of friends.
Upon completion of your booking, we will send you a "Welcome to Barbados" facts sheet, and there are large bound folders in the apartments giving comprehensive information on how to get the most from your time on the island.
Art Studio is our home for several months of the year. Please be assured that we have made every possible effort to make our apartments clean, comfortable and very relaxing. We are very proud of the feed back from our guests, many of whom return on a regular basis.

We accept that small accidents are always possible, but reserve the right to charge for any damage to the property or contents.Smoking: Our apartments are strictly non smoking.Pets: We regret that no pets can be accepted. Money: The Barbados dollar ($Bds.) is the official currency. The exchange rate is about $2.00 Bds. to U.S.$1.00. It is better to exchange currency at commercial banks because they give a better rate, and you can save money by not using foreign currency for purchases. Credit Cards such as American Express, Bank Americard, Barclaycard, Carte Blanche, Diners Club International, EnRoute, Eurocard, MasterCard, and Visa are widely accepted. There are cash machines at banks in Holetown and Bridgetown that accept credit cards. Most establishments also accept traveller's cheques. Try to avoid exchanging currency whilst at any Airport. The exchange rate is not at all competitive. Many restaurants and shops will happily accept cash payment in U.S. Dollars. Barbados Weather:Barbados weather is mostly sunny and fair with warm days, cool winds and cosy nights. Because of its position relative to the equator, the sun rises at approximately 5:30 a.m. and sets at approximately 6:00 p.m. year round.

Barbados enjoys 3,000 hours of sunshine a year, making almost any month of the year a good time to visit. The weather is best from December through April. Tropical rainstorms sometimes occur in the hurricane season, which runs from June to October. As we say in Barbados "June too soon, October all over". Tropical rains are spectacular, but the Island is very porous and the heaviest rains quickly drain off into the underground lakes or the sea. Hurricanes usually avoid Barbados. They arise off the African coast and head to the Caribbean, swinging north about 100 miles from Barbados. The pattern is reasonably consistent as hurricanes tend to bounce from one landmass to the next and Barbados is somewhat separate from the Caribbean Islands chain. This does not of course make us immune, but the last occasion Barbados suffered a direct hit was in 1955. There is a story of a bus driver who drove his passengers straight through the worst, reportedly saying "was a bit of a breeze".
Local Weather Disruption:
As a result of recent very high seas around the Caribbean, due apparently to the earlier hurricanes in Haiti, some structural damage has been caused to properties either side of our entrance to the beach. There are some fallen boulders and concrete walling imbedded in the sand. This should not in anyway spoil your enjoyment, but we do urge caution when walking this short section of the beach. These are not our properties and therefore any work to rectify this is beyond our control. We have been advised that remedial work will start soon.
